A delicious treat!
INGREDIENTS FOR 6 PORTIONS
- 1 large rutabaga, peeled and chopped into pieces
- 4 to 6 potatoes, peeled and chopped into pieces
- 2 carrots, peeled and cut in halves
- 500 ml (2 cups) chicken broth
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup
- 500 ml (2 cups) of milk
- 1 ml (1/4 tsp.) grated nutmeg
- Salt and pepper
PREPARATION
In a large saucepan, bring 500 ml (2 cups) chicken broth to a boil, add rutabagas, potatoes and carrots and cook for 20 minutes, or until vegetables are tender.
Using a blender, puree vegetables and cooking liquid until you have a smooth mixture.
Add puree back to saucepan, continue heating and add milk and maple syrup. Season and adjust the consistency with a little chicken stock, if necessary. Reheat without boiling and serve with crushed wheat bread.
